Join us for the first Annual Hoops for Hugaway Basketball Tournament
Time to dust off the sneakers Men. Wanted to let you all know about our fall basketball tournament that is a fundraiser tournament happening at Arrow Heights on Friday, November 12 and Saturday, November 13. It is called Hoops for Hug Away. Hug Away http://hugaway.org/wordpress/?cat=9 is a nonprofit organization. Hug Away was founded to help folks with some of the obstacles financially with adopting. Also they help support children in Ethiopia that will never have that forever family by adopting a child. You can sponsor a child through Hug Away.

So here is the information on the tournament:
- This is an 8 team double elimination tournament for adults 18 and older.
- The cost of the tournament is $200 and will include a game t-shirt. (All proceeds from league fees and concessions and donations will go to support Hug Away)!
- If you have more than 7 players, the cost for each additional player will be $10 per player. (ex. Pete has 9 guys, it will run his team $200 plus 2 extra guys at $10 each totaling $220).
- Rosters must be completely filled out, paid and turned in by October 29th. After the 29th the cost goes up to $250 per team.
- First 8 teams to turn in rosters completely and paid in full will be in tournament.
- My guess is we will be full by the end of next week so get it in quick!
- Your team roster has the size of t-shirt you will wear and what number you want.
- We will take the first 8 teams that turn in their complete roster and money to Arrow Heights so it is basically, first come first serve on teams. If size is not entered or number, we will automatically assign you a number and or size XL so make sure you get the size down.
- Refs are volunteering their time (not paid) for this fundraiser and will not be on any of the teams so they will just be refs.
- At turn in time prior to the 29th must have roster filled out completely and cash or check turned in. If it is a check it should be made out to Arrow Heights and in the memo field put Hug Away.

Drop it off at the Student Center which is behind the church on the SE side of the parking lot across from the rec field. Student Center office hours are 9 to 5 Mon – Fri. (closed from 12 to 1pm)
- We will do a blind draw for pairings on Thursday night November 11 at Arrow Heights at 6:30pm.
- We will hand out your game t-shirts at that time. (T-shirts must be worn during the games no different color shirts allowed).
- We will cover the rules at this time, but basically simple:
- 20 minute halves and 8 minute half time. Clock is a running clock except for time outs.
- Each team will have 1 time out per half. Timeouts not used do not carry over.T
- he coach or a representative of your team must be present at the pairings on Thursday night.
- First round games will be held on Friday night with first game starting at 6:30, 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30.
- We will then pick up play on Saturday morning at 9am and run till we have a champion (last game will be approximately 7:30pm). Remember this is a double elimination tournament.
- We will have concessions available on Friday night and Saturday.
