Hospitality House of Tulsa
Mission Emphasis for June
For those traveling to Tulsa in medical crisis, Hospitality House provides a home away from home with lodging, meals, transportation, laundry services, and prayer support. Since opening their doors in 2006, they have helped over 18,000 people from all 77 counties in Oklahoma, 48 states in the U.S., and 9 foreign countries. We invite you to join us in our mission and get involved today!
There are many different opportunities for individuals, couples, and small groups to help with the mission of Hospitality House. Some of the ways you can get involved are:
- Meals of Love: Do you enjoy cooking for groups? Hospitality House seeks to provide our guests with home-cooked meals to ensure that those preoccupied by medical crisis eat on a regular basis. Members of the Meals of Love team make this possible by preparing meals for our 20-30 guests. Great for small groups. Volunteer once a week, once a month, or once a quarter!
- Prayer Support: Join other faithful volunteers in praying over guests’ prayer requests and hand-writing the families encouraging notes.
- Welcome Center Host: This volunteer opportunity ideally helps manage simple tasks in the Welcome Center. It may include answering the phones, administrative organizational tasks, greeting guests, and helping with guests’ laundry.
Group Project Ideas:
- Fall outdoor beautification project – plant mums, trim bushes, weeding
- Meals of Love Freezer Edition – prepare freezer meals for when we need to fill in a meal.
- Prayer Card Ministry – Get a small group together to write prayer cards to the guests and have a time of prayer and devotion in the Day Room.
